AAA Alpine Air Ambulance AG (AAA) is a rescue service and patient transport company. As a subsidiary of Lions Air Group AG, AAA specializes in patient transport with planes, helicopters and ambulances. These include rescue operations, repatriations and light patient transports. On behalf of Swisstransplant, AAA acts as «Exclusive Partner» for all organ transports –in Switzerland and abroad. All transports are coordinated by the regional rescue networks as well as by the companies own operations center.

Rescue bases in Birrfeld and Balzers

In the canton of Aargau, the company is been integrated into the rescue network 144 with the helicopter «Lions 1» since spring 2013 and carries out primary rescue operations from the Birrfeld base. Since then, AAA has been contributing around the clock to emergency medical care in the canton of Aargau, the surrounding cantons and parts of Baden-Württemberg with more than 30 highly qualified employees. At the end of 2017, the German DRF Luftrettung, the Austrian ARA Flugrettung and the Swiss Alpine Air Ambulance AG founded AP3 Luftrettung, which started to operate a rescue helicopter base in Balzers Liechtenstein on December 19th, 2018.

Qualified crew and a modern fleet

As a subsidiary of Lions Air Group AG, AAA is embedded in an aviation group at Zurich Airport that has existed for almost 30 years. It operates a fleet comprising several helicopters, two aircraft and numerous ground ambulances. The Lions Air Group AG fleet is also available as required. We also have an extensive network of additional partner companies. The AAA teams are engaged worldwide 365 days a year under highest safety and quality standards.
